Jason Snyder, HUIT's Chief Technology Officer has announced that Gretchen Gingo will take over as the new Director of Identity and Access Management Services, effective 12/7/2020. His email announcement follows:
Identity and Access Management services are a critical component for the University application portfolio and the first line of defense for application security. Jane Hill’s retirement at the end of December is impactful – she personifies IAM - she has led with thoughtfulness, partnership, and expertise. Gretchen will work closely with Jane Hill and the rest of the TPS team beginning now to help with Jane’s departure and continue the excellent service delivery of the IAM team.
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer at Harvard University IT, the Director of IAM Services is responsible for the outreach, planning, delivery, and support associated with IAM service management and implementation. The role serves as the Service Owner for all IAM Service Offerings. IAM is inherently complex - there are over 30 applications within the IAM portfolio and it has tier 1 service requirements.
Gretchen is ready for the IAM challenge. A graduate of Harvard College, Gretchen received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1999. She has worked with the University for the past 18 in a variety of positions of increasing responsibility. These include managing departments in GSAS, the College, the FAS, and HUIT. Most recently, in 2015, she joined the Aurora Project where she led the turnaround of a multi-year, multi-million-dollar project to replace an aging HRMS with a new custom Java HRMS to support the HR needs of the FAS. Following the successful completion of the Aurora project, Gretchen has managed a portfolio of custom HR applications. She will bring a strategic focus and strong partnership abilities to the leadership of IAM.
